Family Courts Act 1984

i. Appeals and Revision

Any person aggrieved by an order/decree passed by the Family Court can prefer an appeal to the High Court within 30days from the date of the order/decree passed by the Family Court. However, the said order must not be an interlocutory order. No appeal shall lie to the High Court against any interlocutory order of the Family Court.

No appeal shall lie in case where the order/decree is obtained with the consent of the parties. It is a well known maxim of common law "consent vitiates the most solemn affirmation of law."
