Digital Signature Certificate means a certificate issued by a recognised certifying authority authenticating the digital signature of a subscriber.

The certifying authorities who are recognised license holders have the power to issue Digital Signature Certificate's. Any person desiring to issue a Digital Signature Certificate has to apply to a recognised certifying Authority in the prescribed manner.

Such application must be accompanied by a Certification practice statement or inabsence of such statement, a statement containing such particulars as are specified by regulations.
